Last day I saw the movie
Paterson, again.
Paterson is the name
of a bus driver who
writes poems.
It is also the name of the town
in which he lives.
In Paterson lived also
Alain Ginsberg,
but what is much more important,
William Carlos William, too.
I have never been to Paterson.
It seems to me to be a town
like many other small places
anywhere in the world.
In this movie the sadness of a
small and insignificant place
turns into the beauty of poetry.
I cannot stop thinking of
the poetry and the sadness in
one and the same thing.
For instance, so many people
who I randomly met in life, and
who continue to exist in my
imagination, passed away
without my knowledge;
yet, there is something
beautiful in it.
