When Jesus was arrested in the
garden of Gethsemane
and Peter drew his sword,
the priest’s servant, Malchus,
lost his ear – it fell to the ground.
For just a moment, till Jesus
melted it back on Malchus‘ head,
he could hear the sounds made
by the earth.
After a quarrel with Gaugain
Van Gogh cut his ear and
gifted it to a prostitute.
There suddenly was an
immense silence.
On fire, driven by high intentions,
Garibaldi felt the burning spot
explode right in his backhead.
His ideas were holding him
upright, but the proliferation
of unknown fire plants in his head
put him into astonishment.
There was a strident sound
when he fainted and lost
his ear.
Exposed to life, definitions weren‘t revealed.
There was a frequency which could be heard,
if silence was opened to the frozen lives.
Save your life by not living.
The poet’s ear could read between those lines.
The poet’s ear was full of endless impressions,
the unexpected moment when the inversion of things
is realized – the ear that hears the deeper meanings.
